Are they fakes in that they are bunk, or just knock-offs that are still chemically pretty much the same thing?

If by "knockoffs" you mean are they copies of the original coins? If so by law they should be marked "COPY" somewhere on the coin. If not marked, then they are technically "counterfeit" and are illegal to make and pass off as the real thing.

They all seem to have perfect edges....not a genuine, satisfying look to them at all.. Confused
